  3. medium employed is all-important. The ostensible program 
  4. content is a lulling distraction needed to enable the structural 
  5. form to get through the barriers of conscious attention.

  7.      Any game, like any medium of information, is an 
  8. extension of the individual or the group. Its effect on the group 
  9. or individual is a reconfiguring of the parts of the group or 
  10. individual that are not  so extended. A work of art has no 
  11. existence or function apart from its effects  on human 
  12. observers. And art, like games or popular arts, and like media of 
  13. communication, has the power to impose its own assumptions 
  14. by setting the human community into new relationships and 
  15. postures.
